Message from Bert - Social Studies and Math Test Retakes

We returned this week to our Early Modern stories. Most of the girls got off to a great start with their writing before the mid-Winter break. We had our initial draft (800-1200 words) due that week and will have our next draft (1800-2500 words) due on Thursday this week. I had several girls check in with me before break about not being able get the first draft in before break because of school visits or family vacations. I assured them that this was not a problem as long as they got cracking when they got back from break. If you think this might have applied to your daughter, please ask her how her story is going. As all of our stories are being drafted and peer-reviewed online, you can also see her work by asking her for her blog address or see the full class set at our class blog (historywriting.blogspot.com).

A quick reminder that we are offering girls the opportunity to retake any section of their Math test that they scored less than a 3 on during lunch this week (Tu-Th). The tests were taken on the Thursday before the break and returned with scores the next day. Ask your daughter how she did and encourage her to take advantage of the retake, if needed, as well as to get extra practice or support from MM or myself at lunch or during homework center before then.
